I'm not sure if I've emphasized this enough so I'm going to emphasize it a bit more. The TWO best ways to collect airmiles fast is by following the Weeks Best Airmiles deals (this site) and using an Airmiles Credit Card. I provided the list of weeks best air miles deals every sunday now I'll make a suggestion for two airmiles credit cards to use.
I prefer the American Express Credit cards as they are (in my opinion) the two best credit cards for airmiles collecting (right now).

The Platinum Credit Card gets you 1 airmile for every $10 spent at airmiles sponsors and 1 airmile for every $15 you spend elsewhere. Plus if you apply before January 31st, 2009 to get 350 bonus airmiles! This card also gets you many Platinum benefits such as Car Rental Theft and Damage Insurance, Purchase Protection Plan and Travel Accident Insurance to name a few.
The only drawback is that there is a $50 annual fee (which is actually quite low for a paid reward credit card)
