How do I Redeem my Airmiles?

BE SURE TO CHECK THE DATE OF THE COUPON/POST - Old posts are NOT removed as they must remain in-order for you to find this site and the most recent deals.

So you've spent a little time collecting airmiles, finding the best deals, etc... Now how do you redeem the air miles? I get this question a lot. Here's how you go about spending your airmiles!

The first step is to go onto the airmiles.ca website and do some research. This has two main steps

  1. Determine the item (or trip) that you want and determine the number of airmiles
  2. Determine the price if you were to purchase it elsewhere ( Expedia.ca, Westjet, Air Canada, Travelocity.ca, etc...)

Now determine if using your airmiles is worth it. How do you do this? Good question. It's different for every person, however, I usually calculate based on a dollar value. If the airmiles that I'm spending are around $7.00 I'll purchase. Why $7? Because this is the lower value of airmiles gift cards.

That's the hard part. To actually book your airmiles trip or item you need to call airmiles at 1800airmiles. Warning, that it often takes a long time to get through so be ready to wait for a while.

Don't forget that you can collect airmiles WAY FASTER by simply following this website and having an airmiles credit card. Those two tips will have you not only redeeming faster but also flying further!

What do you mean by “If the airmiles that I’m spending are around $7.00 I’ll purchase” – ?

Can I redeem my air mile rewards on line? How do I do this?

How the H do I redeem for a Chapters Gift Card. Nowhere do I find an ‘Item #’

How do I know how many airmiles I have? I want to purchase a BBBQ, & would like to know how to go about it by using my airmiles. I would greatly appreciate some information please.

Sincerely

Bill Vankuik

Hi Bill,

You can find out by going to airmiles.ca and logging in with your card number and password. Or you can call airmiles directly and they’ll tell you over the phone. You can then ‘purchase’ the BBQ either online or over the phone. Hope this helps!

Jeff

Hi,

So we’ve booked a trip to Hawaii- can we apply our airmiles to the trip? If so, how?

Thanks
Graham

If I am booking a trip to Taiwan in November 2009 can I use my air miles towards the flight? Thankyou in advance Szu

I’ve been fiddling around on your web for an hour trying to redeem my miles for shell gas coupons — keep going on to airmiles.ca then redeem and getting a bunch of horse poop.

Whats going on?

Hi Clarence, The problem is this isn’t the actual airmiles site it’s actually a blog about airmiles. If you go to the airmiles.ca website you’ll have much better luck!

Hi Szu. Yes, you can book a flight to Taiwan. ALthough, it will be a LOT of airmiles. call airmiles or visit them online to book.

Hi Graham, YOu can’t actually apply airmiles to a flight or trip that has already been booked. Sorry.

I tried to go on the site and get the apple iphone 16 gig and it came up out of stock. Does this mean it will be on a waiting list for when this item is available? Please help me with this issue so I can just recieve it as soon as possible.

Hi Jay. I’m not exactly sure as I’ve never ordered a product that wasn’t in stock. I’d call them directly at 1888airmiles

I would like some info on cashing in some air miles.
Thanks Jean

Have looked through the entire catalogue and cannot find a phone number for air miles. The site to redeem air mils is totally useless. I guess airmiles is all about spending to get air miles. They certainly don’t want to be bothered with easy redemtion proccedures.

What is their phone number?

How do I find the catalogue of items I can redeem my air miles for?

Ihave had my card XXXXXX since 08/92 I have never

Who do I contact to find out the no. of airmiles I have

Evertried phoning about your Air miles? What a joke . Impossible to get anyone to answer . I hung on for 30 mins. then gave up.

I can hear the frustration of all those above. I echo their sentimnets. Your websites are designed to frustrate and confuse. Two hours and I still haven’t found out HOW to redeem my miles. Everyone knows how to collect airmiles but redeeeming them is a huge secret. No wonder the Toronto Star has wriiten articles to expose this! Shame on you for your incompetence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pat – The number is 1-888-AIRMILES… That’s the ‘easiest way’ but will take a while on the phone

E. Kokorsch – Yes, phoning does take FOREVER. Put it on speaker phone and make dinner, do the dishes, etc… Don’t sit around waiting or you’ll never have the patients to use your airmiles!

Irena – This isn’t the airmiles website but rather a blog about how to COLLECT airmiles FASTER. Their website is actually rather easy to use and to use your airmiles. Can you please point me to the article in the Toronto Star?

I what to know how to redeem my air miles. Could you send me a catalogue with different machandise.
Regards

Hi Tony.

This ISN”T the actual airmiles website. You’ll have to contact them for a catalogue.

Another option is that it’s all available online.

Ihave had my airmiles card since August 2006 the # is XXXXXX What is my balance now ? I have used any of them to date. Can they be used for Westjet flight to western Canada> Thank you Gayle Seymour

Hi Gayle, the best thing to do is to contact airmiles directly at 1-888-AIRMILES or visit their website and enter your login information.

Hopefully that helps.
Good luck!
Jeff

I can not figure out which site to go to with no trouble to redeem my air miles for two items that are in the latest book. which are item #1330170277 and # 1330180504 . How do I order these on line. I am new at this and find it very difficult, as I am 71 yrs. of age.Thank you,

Anita Berlin

I tried to order on the phone this morning only to be told that they no longer do this that you must go on line. Waited over half an hour,

I am having trouble finding out how many air miles I have accumulated since 2000. Always comes up invalid # . Perhaps I am not doing it right. so would appreciate some help

I haven’t had a statement for two years, could you tell me how many airmiles I have?

If you think Air Miles program is bad, try Aeroplan. After saving points for years and paying CIBC hundreds of $’s in annual fees, Aeroplan just decided one day to confiscate all my airmiles points. *Admin edited the rest of the comment for content*

I was booking a flight and tried to find out how can i redeem my points. I went to Airmiles online, but did not find any information. So i booked my flight at Expedia.ca without airmiles. I can’t understand how it works. Before payment they should ask if we want to spend airmiles points. Am i right?

Vladimir, This is NOT how you book using your airmiles. You have to visit the Airmiles website and book online or call them directly at 1-888-AIRMILES.

Air Miles is it’s own separate travel entity that buys flights from different airlines. That means if you book elsewhere you CAN’T redeem your air miles for that flight.

Hopefully that makes a bit more sense.

Can I redeem my Airmiles to purchase flight ticket in WestJet?

I have also been trying to redeem my airmiles. got as far as filling out my e-mail address, password and username, then I was supposed to type numbers and letters EXACTLY as shown, did this about 10 times and gave up. I’m sure you must do this to confuse and frustrate us illiterate computer users

I did manage to find out how many miles I had, yeah!

I have had my airmails card since 2002,can’t seem to find out how many points i have-# is 8400-363-4260

you use to have a book to choose from I would like a book. I am trying to find out if you still have the Toronto pass in the book so I can use my points and what is URI

However, to answer your question. You can see an online flyer on the air miles website here -> https://www.airmiles.ca/arrow/RewardsHome?selectedCategoryId=cat670016

For a Toronto Metropass you will need 950 reward miles. Hope that helps.

how do i find how many points i have and how to redeem them i have a corporate card

Hi George,

To find out how many miles you have you need to create an air miles account or call their 1-888-AIRMILES phone number. Good luck! Jeff

Do not know what URl is: please help on that one..I have had airmiles card since 1997…and now want to make a trip.

I do not have a pin number…If I ever did its been a long time and have no idea…How can I get a pin number please.

thank you

Hi> I do not know wat URI is..please help on that one…I have had airmiles since 1997 (1492 points) and now wish to make a trip to toronto.

I do not have a pin number…If I ever did its been a long time and no idea….How can I get a pin number please.

thank you,

You will need to call air miles directly to book your trip at 1-888-AIRMILES. This may take a while so be sure to have speaker phone.

I’m posting a series on how to create a PIN for your airmiles account but it’s relatively easy and you only need your air miles collector number. Go to this link to get started airmiles.ca/collector/EnrollmentAllStep0

Good luck!
