NEW - American Express Airmiles Credit Card
Here is a new airmiles credit card from American Express. American express has long had a free airmiles credit card where you get 100 Bonus AIR MILES* reward miles for signing-up and you collect at 1 airmile for every $15 spent.
This is the first annual fee credit card from American Express for Air Miles. Here are the details:
- 1 airmile for every $10 spent at sponsors (Safeway, Westjet, Rona, Sportchek, etc..)
- 1 airmile for every $15 spent everywhere else
- 250 bonus Airmiles after first purchase
- Car Rental Theft and Damage Insurance
- Annual fee of $50
- Apply for the American Express® AIR MILES®* Platinum Credit Card
To summarize. This card looks like an upgraded version of the No fee Credit Card. What it comes down to is how much you're willing to spend on your credit card. The extra bonuses of car rental damage, travelers insurance are a nice little bonus. However, you can get a credit card with these bonuses without having to pay an annual fee.
