Gold Airmiles vs Gold Credit Card
I've recently had a couple of questions regarding which is better Gold Airmiles Collector or Gold WestJet Mosaik Credit Card. Then answer to this question is simple. BOTH
The Gold Airmiles Collector is a free service the air miles provides to every collector. All you have to do is simply collect 1000 airmiles and shop at 5 stores in a year. In return you'll get discounts on flights and merchandise. You can read more about it in these posts
The Gold Mosaik Credit Card is the best paid for credit card. It'll cost you $80 per year. However, you'll be able to fly anywhere in continenal north america that WestJet flies for 1600 airmiles. AND. You'll collect airmiles at a rate of 1 airmile for every $15 spent. You can read my articles about the Bronze, Silver and Gold collectors cards here.
If you are looking for a FREE air miles credit card then I'm a huge fan of the American Express® AIR MILES®* Credit Card.
To summarize you should definitely have an airmiles credit card of some sort. If you plan to fly with WestJet and spend lots then the Gold Mastercard is probably for you. If you're looking for a free card then the American Express Card is for you. AND using these cards and shopping at five different places you should become a gold collector.

I’ve been looking at the new AMEX Platinum airmiles card that Paul J mentioned and damn, it is a good card! Signed up for it already.
Wow, two posts in less than 30 minutes. Looks like the BMO Mosaik card may not be so good afterall:
“Finally, Mr. Newman said the carrier may consider launching its own loyalty program after its current agreement with Air Miles and Mosaik ends at the end of 2008.”

I think you need to check out Amex Canada’s new Platinum airmiles card…
1 mile for every $10 spent in select providers
$50 fee, but free collision damage
