Shell Airmiles Credit Card
Did you know that you can now get a SHELL gas air miles credit card? It’s true. The actual name is the Shell Air Miles MasterCard. You can see the information provided by Shell here or read on.
The Shell Air Miles MasterCard allows you to collect airmiles at the rate of 1 airmile for every $20 spent. This is the same rate as the Mosaik Silver Air Miles Mastercard and the NO FEE American Express® AIR MILES Credit Card.
As with all Air Miles credit cards (and this one is no different) you’ll be able to “double dip.” This is when you use your airmiles credit card at a Air Miles sponsor (Shell, Westjet, Safeway). They call it double dipping because you’ll get credit for the airmiles at the sponsor and the money that you put on your credit card will also collect airmiles.
The card itself has a $35 yearly fee (the same as the Silver Mosaik Card). I don’t know the interest rate that MasterCard charges on this credit card. However, that’s fine because as you can read in my Airmiles Credit Card Comparisons I don’t think you should have an Airmiles Credit Card if you’re carying a balance.
The one neat thing about this card is it tracks how much you’ve spent at Shell throughout the month. This way you can track your monthly vehicle expenses. Although, this only really works if you don’t buy gas anywhere but at Shell.
All in all this is not really a good air miles credit card. You don’t get any ’special’ benefits that more benefits then
