This is a paid review for Switchplanet.com
Do you have old Cd's, Dvd's, games or books? Tired of having these and want to trade them? Think SwitchPlanet.com

Create a free account, set up your member profile, list of items and trading preferences and you'll be ready to switch today!
Neat idea.... and I know I have a bunch of old cd's that I won't/don't/can't listen to anymore.... Why does this site want to trade items?  To keep a green planet. Their theory is if people start trading their old items then it's basically an online recycling program!   Plus, it might save you some money in the long run.
The site itself is actually VERY well done. You can look at many different types of media (Dvd, cd, games, books) then under each media there are different genres... Such as Comedy, Action & Adventure, Drama, Western, etc.... Then as if that's not enough you can see the most wanted, most switched, most available and newest items. A screen shot of what I'm talking about is below....
The site itself charges no fee to sign-up and use the product. When you 'trade away' and item you collect switchbucks. To 'get an item' you need switchbucks. Which you can collect by a) trading an item or b) buying them with you credit card for $1 per switchbucks. What exactly are switchbucks? According to the website...
Switchbucs are our internal currency used to facilitate the switches. You get switchbucs when you send something you have to another member and you spend switchbucs when you request something from another member. Switchbucs allow you to switch with any members anytime…no need for two members to have something the other member wants in order to make a switch. Simply put…switchbucs help speed up the switching process and make switching safe because it allows us to easily offer refunds when a switch doesn’t go as planned.
So basically you can buy items from anyone using switchbucks and sell to anyone to get switchbucks. It's basically ebay with an internal currency.  Right now they only specialize in Entertainment products. Although, they do plan on expanding to a larger product line soon.    It's a very neat idea and I just recently found some unwanted CD's that I might try to trade.
If you're looking for more information you can check out the Frequency Asked Questions (FAQ) here. They give you a run down of most of the questions you'll be asking yourself. So if you want to trade some of your junk give it a shot!
