Cash Unclaimed

This is a paid Review:

Cashunclaimed is a website created to help you find your unclaimed money. The tag-line of the website is "Unclaimed Money Could Be Waiting For You To Claim It."

As well, the website simply states " It is estimated that 9 in 10 Americans are owed cash that sits unclaimed year after year. So, it's quite likely that some of this money belongs to you. The question is how much?"

I'm not exactly sure how they come to the conclusion that 9 out of 10 Americans are owed cash. It would seem that a lot less then 270 Million people are owed cash. Especially considering that only 67% of americans use the intenet (Source).

Nevertheless, I was wondering how much money I was owed. Although, not being an american makes this search a bit difficult? Either way, I am owed $75.00. Bill Gates on the other hand is owed $9,809.62. And Peter Parker (aka: Spiderman) is owed $5,696.03. Go figure.

So why would you have unclaimed cash?

For instance, have you ever:

  • moved without checking to be sure every company and person you do business with knew your new address?
  • moved without getting your utility deposit refund back?
  • opened a savings account as a child or for your own child and then forgot about it?
  • forgot to cash a health insurance check?
  • forgot to cash interest or dividend checks on stocks or bonds?
  • Quit or been fired from a job and never gone back to get your last paycheck?
  • Didn't notify companies who owe you money that you have moved?

So how do you claim your money if you do have money (and I couldn't find a single person who wasn't 'owed' money). Well, for a simple FEE of $11 (limited time only) you can search for you or your friends for 30 days. How you claim the money is a bit unclear based on the How it works portion of the website. But from what I can decipher it goes like this.

  1. You pay for the service
  2. Find who owes you money
  3. You go and get the money back yourself

I did a search on the net for unclaimed cash scam and found an article at scambusters http://www.scambusters.org/unclaimed-money.html.

All and All this is a paid review but I'm not really sure I'd be claiming my $75. Or even if I was Peter Parker I doubt I'd be claiming my $6000.
