Number of Airmiles to fly
Another very common search term & question that I get asked is “How many airmiles are need to fly ……” The answer to this question isn’t simple, unfortunately.
If you have the Gold Airmiles Mosaik Credit Card then this is a simpler answer. In that case it’s anywhere between 800-1600 Airmiles to fly. The most you’ll use to fly in Continental North America, with Westjet, is 1600 Airmiles.
The answer, otherwise is more difficult and depends largely by the distance of the flight. The original plan of Airmiles Reward Miles was to let people earn miles. These miles could be redeemed to fly the air distance (in miles) between two places. However, as flight prices have increased so have the number of files needed to fly. As well the introduction of ‘high seasons’ and ‘low seasons’ has increased the number of airmiles needed.
To get an accurate estimate of the number of airmiles simply login to your airmiles account. Click the ‘Rewards‘ Tab. Then click ‘Flights’. This will bring up a drop down menu of where you’re flying from(Departure) and going to (Destination).
